Celtic 0 Falkirk 0 LIVE: Score and goal updates from Premier Sports Cup clash at Parkhead

CELTIC have been held to a frustrating goalless draw by Falkirk in the Premier Sports Cup.

The Hoops dominated possession and created a host of chances, but they could not find a way past the resolute Bairns defence.

The result leaves Celtic's hopes of winning the Premier Sports Cup hanging in the balance.

RECAP: Celtic 0 - 0 Falkirk

Celtic started the game brightly and had the first chance of the match when Liel Abada fired wide from 20 yards.

The Hoops continued to press and came close to opening the scoring when Kyogo Furuhashi hit the post from close range.

Falkirk grew into the game as the half wore on and had a good chance to take the lead when Aidan Keena fired over from a good position.

The second half was a similar story, with Celtic dominating possession but struggling to create clear-cut chances.

Abada had another good chance to score when he was clean through on goal, but he could only fire straight at Falkirk goalkeeper Robbie Mutch.

Celtic continued to push for a winner but Falkirk held firm to earn a creditable draw.

ANALYSIS: Celtic's attacking struggles continue

Celtic's failure to score against Falkirk is a major concern for manager Ange Postecoglou.

The Hoops have now failed to score in three of their last four matches and have only managed one goal in their last five games.

Postecoglou will be hoping that his team can rediscover their goalscoring touch in time for their next match against Rangers on Saturday.
